In Environment

Example of the app within an environment of use

Light bulb icon is big enough to recognise its for lighting, and the fader stands out.

The white text is clear to read and the arrows are obvious to a normal iPhone user of how to interact with the app as it follows the normal conventions.

Redesign of Function

Re-design for the light dimmer page, this design is alot more native for apples ISO7 design

Dimmer colour has changed to the orange on the colour scheme and the rest of it has been burned a darker grey to contrast with the background.

Arrows have been added which are similar to apples products.

And ofcourse Myriad Pro for the font

Interface Design

First design of the first interface screen

with abilities to share information to facebook and twitter which different functions

After feedback about sliders and general design of the app, the light dimmer screen was taken back to development and redesigned. The lightbulb is now centered in the middle and is displayed when the dimmer is at max and the opacity fades when the dimmer is lowered to symbolise the real light.

You swipe to get to and from different rooms and the home icon allows you to get back to the menu.

Idea of the Flat design inter face for the app, Slide switches which resemble the colour scheme chosen for the app

Couple of logo inspirations, clever set simple. Can be used within a small icon but still be blown up to a high resolution if needed.

Similar Products

Wifi enabled products are forever edging into the market because of the rapid growth of apps and futurist gadgets. Its also a big plus that people desire these new gadgets, one of them is iKettle.

The examples below include the app design interface and slight pictures of the kettle itself. The app itself from the first picture has the kettle in the background as a out of focus picture. Which its flat design inspired my apples new ISO, this app would slot nicely in with its current market trends.
